Long Story Short...

Over a week without constant internet and I'm a mess -____-;;; I think the internet situation is a little different over here-- there are probably as many wifi spots, but they aren't free... For example, at Starbucks, T Mobile sponsors the wireless so you have to have a paid subscription to their service in order to use it. Most people just buy their own wireless though. Anyway enough of the boring stuff! I'm connected on an unsecured wireless network my housemate found here at our flat-- hopefully I'm not unknowingly downloading loads of evil British viruses onto my computer >.>;;;;

So, what did I do in London? Touristy stuffs of course! My parents and I bought tickets to a double decker bus tour, which I highly DO NOT suggest in December/January because the tops of those things are FREEZING with windchill. We saw...

Westminster Abbey (very expensive to go inside...)

the changing of the guard at Buckingham palace (okay, I didn't actually see any guards or any changing going on... just the back of people's heads)

Big Ben... and a few other sites that are plastered on postcards all over Britain. But the activity that took up most of our time was not sightseeing, but SHOPPING =) I had no idea they had such nice shopping over here in London-- I thought it was going to be a bunch of lame expensive boutiques like there are in Boston, but they actually have some large stores. The girls here are quite trendy, rivaling some of the trendiest I've seen in New York and Hong Kong. Quite a few of the large department stores (Marks & Spencer, Harrods) have supermarkets on the bottom floor. I guess Harrods is another experience alltogether. It is London's premier, one stop shopping destination. It comes complete with a supermarket, fish market, meat market, womens department, mens department, makeup department, soulvenier shop, furniture store, and housewares store. The only catch is that I probably can't afford most of the things in there-- most of their stuff is really nice, designer stuff. But they have some of the most vibrant, brilliantly colored fruits and vegetables I've ever seen-- next time I go to London, I'll take a picture.

Most of my days ended here

Like any good Asian mother, my mom made sure I bought my share of noodles, soy sauce, tofu, preserved vegetables, and other various oriental foodstuffs so that I would have stuff to eat at my apartment.

Don't worry, I promise the posts will get more interesting once I catch up my blogtime to where I am in realtime. Just to let you know though, I moved into my apartment in Fleet (~40mi ouside of London) last Friday, and started work yesterday (Monday) in Farnborough. Going to sleep now, post again tomorrow!
